I built these speaker stands around two years ago. I designed them to complement my Triangle BR03 speakers. They are made entirely of mild steel and then powder coated. I used pulse TIG for most of the fabrication, which was thoroughly enjoyable. The bottom plate is 3/8 inch thick and the top is 1/4 inch thick. They feature adjustable feet machined from delrin plastic.
Though these are extremely heavy, I think the white color and the angled uprights give them a light, dynamic appearance.
