Almost a year after graduating, I hadn’t stepped foot back on campus. I visited this past weekend while our industrial design program celebrated 20 years. Many things have changed already- a new CNC lab with 4 machines, including two desktop machines and a new 4×8 machine with an ATC. The metal shop has also been upgraded with new South Bend lathes and mills.
While it would have been awesome to have access to this stuff in my time there, it is definitely better late than never! It was great to see some current students, classmates, reconnect with professors, and meet other alumni.
It will never be the same without the people I went through it with, but I couldn’t turn down the chance to see what’s happening on the mountain. What a special place.
